Stonewall College is a private liberal arts institution of higher learning founded on the principles of advancing the individual and the community by providing a nurturing sanctuary in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied students may pursue academic development free from the hindrance of social marginalization and distraction.

Academically
- Recruit and retain a talented and diverse enrollment of students committed to high academic achievement and community engagement.

- Provide quality support services devoted to the holistic advancement and comfort of the individual student.
- Design and implement a model program of community service which will extend the college's resources to the external community.
- Design and implement a nationally recognized off campus program focusing on human rights, third world issues, cultural awareness, cultural pluralism, and environmental protection and conservation.
- Practice sound fiscal management to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of college programs through responsible budgeting and effective foundation development.
